Why Yoga for Kids?
In the fast-paced world of technology and competition where children mind is occupied with high frenetic activity, it is a good practice to do meditation to calm the mind and body.
There are thousands of studies showing the positive impact of Yoga and meditation on the human body and mind and these are not limited to adults but children too. Children get to know their bodies better, they learn how to cope with stress and have a positive attitude towards life.
Yoga and meditation help the children to meet their inner self and their hidden talent, many times with clear and peaceful mind after short meditation results in better creative ideas. At the University of Wisconsin, neuroscientists found that 200 local elementary students focussed better after mediation.
It helps children to look into their own self assessing their emotions, thoughts and feelings resulting in more empathetic and compassionate behaviour to their own self and others. An Oakland based meditation program for schools found a considerable change in students behaviour towards others, they were more empathetic and respectful to others.
What to expect in a Kids yoga class?
Price $20/hour
Kids Yoga is structured in a fun, interactive and engaging way so that children may reap the benefits of yoga.
We can customise Individual sessions according to individual needs.
Typically class starts with chanting of a Mantra to calm, ease the mind and relax the body. It helps to bring awareness to the body and let go of worries and tensions.
Asanas are practiced for 45 mins combining previously learnt and new ones followed by the practice of simple breathing techniques in the last fifteen minutes and ending with Shavasana ( Corpse pose ) for 3-4 minutes. So typically class duration can range from one hour five minutes to one hour fifteen minutes.

I attend OM chanting with Parul every Wednesday. The OM vibrations clam your mind and body and relaxed you. Parul is a very good conductor of the session. She also conducts meditation during the session which helps in healing the body and mind.
