Mantra comes from Sanskrit word Manas which means mind, and tra means to protect. Hence Mantra means to protect the mind from the mind. It can be done for spiritual progress or to overcome a specific problem that has its root cause in the spiritual dimension. Chanting quietens the chatter of the mind, relaxes the tired body and helps to get into meditative state.

Empowering the Mala and Mantra

To empower the mala and the mantra used, japa meditation should be practiced each day for 40 continuous days. The Mala has a power to heal you and others, If you and your family member are not feeling well you can place the Mala around the glass of water for an hour or leave it overnight and drink it. When you use a new mantra with a mala, this energy becomes replaced, so it is recommended to use a new mala with each mantra if possible. You should always protect your Mala from the negative energy and keep it safe in Japa Bag and should not wear it on your body.
