Hypnotherapy
What is Hypnotherapy?
Believe it or not, we all enter Hypnosis many times a day without even consciously realizing. When we are in this state of mind, the critical factor of the mind is relaxed. In simple language, your subconscious is more aware than your conscious. For example, when we watch a movie, we are completely aware that we are in an auditorium, surrounded by other people, watching a flat-screen with a projected image and recorded sound, yet we suspend our disbelief and consciously enter into a state of subconsciousness where we may feel genuine emotions, forgetting that we are surrounded by other individuals, or perhaps we don’t even notice the theatre any longer. Our logical mind or critical factor is still there, but imagination and emotion from the subconscious mind emerges and overrides it. This relaxed critical factor facilitates communication between the conscious and the subconscious mind.
Hypnosis works in the same way, offering the client an opportunity to relax their critical factor, their conscious thought process, and access their feelings, physical body and internal processes at a much deeper level allowing access to the deeper levels of our subconscious mind to be utilized for health benefits.
What to expect at a Hypnotherapy session?
The Hypnotherapist has no power over you while in trance. You can bring yourself out of trance at any time and you can choose to reenter the hypnotic state just as easily. Hypnosis does not erase your memories, nor can the hypnotherapist create “new” memories. It is you who is in control and if you don’t like something you can always open your eyes and say you will not do it!
If we were to understand and change the way our subconscious receives instructions from our conscious, we can break the pattern and look for opportunities to perform differently by changing emotions, modelling excellence and challenging our own boundaries and in turn enhancing performance by:
- Changing Habits And Patterns To Get Desired Outcomes
Delimiting Ourselves By Getting Rid Of Our Limiting Beliefs
Getting Rid Of Phobias And Deep Rooted Fears By Disassociating
Replace The Negative With Positive Emotions Using Resource Anchoring
Giving Suggestions To Our Subconscious Using Hypnotherapy To Achieve Desired Goals
The conscious mind is the goal setter, and the subconscious mind is the goal-getter. Your subconscious mind is not out to get you–rather, it’s out to get for you whatever you want in life. So let’s train our subconscious consciously!
