The book ‘An autobiography of a Yogi’ which I read 7 years ago had such a positive influence on me and changed the perspective about my own country India. My respect for India increased manifold as I deciphered the depth of Spirituality. It made me fathom the greatness of the saints who walked on the soils of India and Abroad, and helped me appreciate the ancient Gurukul system which is lost in today’s world and above all the beautiful and sincere relationship of Masters (Guru) with their disciples.

It was the first time I got to know about Mahavatar Babaji and Kriya Yoga. Maha means Great and Avatar means Reincarnation meaning Great Reincarnation, and Babaji means Father. I still vividly remember one of the incidents from the book where  Mahavatar Babaji burnt his disciple’s arm with a burning log of wood, this infuriated the other disciples, who questioned Babaji for this action of his.  Babaji replied that had he not done it, disciple would have had a bad death as he would have been burnt to ashes due to his past actions. Babaji gave him little pain and then by placing his palm on the burnt area, he healed the disciple’s arm. He absorbed his disciple’s Karma by doing this selfless act of love.
Till today there are many stories revolving around Babaji. He is believed to be seen in youthful body and present himself to those whom he chooses to. Personally I know few people who have been graced with His presence. It is very difficult for the Mind to understand and grasp this, but when one is in silence many of these “so called illogical stories” make sense 🙂
In today’s world there are still genuine Masters who hold your hand and help you to see your true worth. It is not an easy process, as like a earthen pot of clay which is put through many layers of purification process before it take its final shape, the disciple is also put through various tests to find his worth.
The impact of the book was so great that it brought me to the doorstep of  Paramahamsa Swami Vishwananda (direct disciple of Mahavatar Babaji) in Germany. It felt as if I have no control and all these events in my life were orchestrated by the Force which was and is beyond me. Visiting the ashram in Germany was like coming home.  I got an opportunity to learn Atma Kriya Yoga which helped me to discover my inner self, which is a manifestation of “Him”. The ethereal peace, strength and serenity achieved through Atma Kriya Yoga is a blessing of the Divine to be experienced to be believed. I consider myself fortunate to have been blessed and given an opportunity to imbibe Atma Kriya Yoga in my daily life, which is so simple yet so powerful and above all, tailor made to Today’s Modern World, wherein one can dedicate a couple of minutes to hours depending on the time available, thereby striking a seamless balance between the pressures of time/ job and the discovery of one’s true self. Besides developing one’s inner self, many professionals who have imbibed Atma Kriya Yoga in their daily lives experience better focus and energy providing optimum results in their professional fields.
It is the best gift anybody can receive in today’s world and it is my sincere wish to share this gift with as many people as possible.
